At this point you can go ahead and pencil an SEC school into the BCS championship game even if they have 2 losses. As an SEC fan (Gators) I feel like I need to clear up the misconceptions about our in-conference rooting. Don't get it twisted -- we still have a hatred for our rival schools and we take pride in clowning them when they fukk up, but there is a basic level or respect and gamesmanship involved. We root for those rivals to beat up on non-conference teams because it puts all of us on a higher stage.

Let's be reality... This is the football pecking order:

NFL

SEC

...

Rest of NCAA


We also appreciate beating teams who are at the top of the heap. As much as I hate Georgia, I would love to see them keep winning and still be top-10 when we stomp that ass this year in Jax. It makes the loss that much more painful for them. Same for LSU and whoever else.

And as for bowl games, why not root for conference teams? We take pride in having by far the best conference in the country. As much as I dislike Saban and Bama, I will definitely root for them over some school from the Big10 or especially the Pac12 (I live in Cali now and I'm sick of these dudes out here acting like USC/Oregon, etc would survive an SEC gauntlet).

I know haters will hate, and I don't blame you. If I wasn't an SEC fan, I'd be upset that we run shyt too.
