she 66 years old. retired in California and relocated back home to Arkansas. paid 306k, made a down payment and got it down to 257k. no PMI. she went through Dr. Horton. they gave her 15k towards interest buydown which ended up being 5.2. they also will pay her fees when she refinances. I'm happy for her. 10 year warranty. 1800 monthly.

Renting a house. My mother could have made a move 20 years earlier but she was always afraid to step out and just do it. Lack of faithCongrats, but that’s kinda sad.

When I bought my first house, my interest rate was 5.5 and I refinanced down to 4.5. she is locked in at 5.2, and thats a result of them giving her 15k to buy down the rate and when she refinances they pay all the lender fees. Moms got bread, not worried. She got a good deal.Worst market ever to buy a house buy hey...
How much does she in social security and how much does she have saved up (401k etc)?
Is she gonna be struggling? $1800 in Arkansas is ungodly.
