It’s her debut mixtape.
Displaying this versatility so early in her career is very impressive.
Excited to see where she goes from here she’s certainly got the world watching. There’s plenty of time for her to find her true “voice”.
Could easily see her becoming a megastar.

This here.

She's winning Grammy's for a mixtape. Being able to do mad different styles is wild impressive. Shows how talented she is, but also how much she's worked on her craft. She'll find her voice in time, but right now, she's winning because she's a breath of fresh air. And people are tired of the same formula with the females in the game.

I'm more than sure that labels will start trying to sign Doechii clones soon. This is the start of something. But in a good way for music.

Industry plant biting Nicki🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️

Don’t think she’s a plant but the label is putting money behind her. Seems like they’re putting a lot in their investment. Which I have no issues with cause she is talented unlike a sexy red/ice spice.

Before she blew she was a barb. Nicki one of her biggest influences

Nah I feel that way too

I don't think she's bad, if anything she's got a lot of talent

But it reminds me of someone trying out a bunch of styles they admire (from the sound of her voice to the content), and they can do them well...but you don't really get a sense of "them" in any of it

Maybe it will change with time and she finds her comfort zone or feels comfortable being her instead of trying a bunch of styles in what seems like a way to win an audience

:manny:
I think it was Picasso or one of them old artists that talked about mimicking or even recreating the work of the old masters to hone your craft and then finding your way with your own style but when you are already recieving grammys in that phase it's like the progression and perception is thrown off

That moment when you can’t say “they all rap about the same shyt” so you have to get creative to hate:mjlit:

Exactly.

She's dope, and not doing what everyone else is doing in a genre where everyone is expected to do the same sh*t all day, everyday. Throw in the fact that she's winning awards now and the media loves her...the hate is definitely popping up now. Even though she's been active online with her sh*t for a minute. They're gonna find a reason not to like her. It's weirdo time.

I don't knock her but never plan on listening to anything she does as it just aint for me lol

I know this sounds ignorant as fukk but I don't really care. At this stage of my life I only listen to Old shyt or new artist talking Fly shyt (Payroll,Larry J. Gunna, etc). Women don't rap about Fly shyt that isn't coded prositution talk in most cases.

breh.....where am i even hating? I expressed my personal opinion about her music modestly and have nothing against her. She is virtually the best mainstream female rapper out now and i can admit that.
guess i gotta like everything by everyone or else i'm somehow hating by remedial people standards :gucci:
