What's up brehs, it's funny reading all the comments about Cam. I knew going back to last year Cam was going to be the one player that develop into a lightning rod within the fanbase. You have one side of the fanbase that love him, thinks he's the next T-Mac and will eventually surpass Trae as the best player on the squad. Then you have the other side of the fanbase that's like ...he can be a part of a trade package, lol.
It's funny to see because we haven't really had a boom or bust player like Cam before (long, have the talent to change a game both offensively and defensively). I will say however, these last 2 games he's made a strong case to get starter consideration. The thing is though, Cam is so boom or bust that no one still can really gauge the career trajectory on him. Let's see how many good performances he can string together. Playing tomorrow on the big stage with no Trae should definitely tell us something.
At this point, it's all about consistency and going beyond the small pops and flashes he's been showing since College. Also, Cam is still very much an emotional player, this is the BIGGEST flaw to his game right now, IMO. Some players can use emotion effectively, some can't. When he get a few shots to go down, you can see the energy and pep in his step. When he misses a few shots, he starts pressing on offense and defense and his overall effectiveness evaporates. Cam needs consistency in his game and that will only come once he stops getting caught up in the emotions of whether or not his shot is falling or if he made a bad play.
As far as trading him, I'm still somewhat wait and see but he does have the type of talent that could make this franchise look real bad down the line if he fully develops into his talent level.
