He can say that signing them is a priority all he wants, but it's a certain dollar amount where it's not it's not feasible to pay them both plus everyone else on the team. This concept is not new in the NBA at all and the situation in Atlanta isn't any different, so let's not pretend like it is. Consolidating assets into a better player is what they should do even if you don't agree with it. Everyone on that team isn't going to be built to make a championship run even if they reach their peak, so you get players who do.
Let's also not forget the fact that teams can add poison pill provisions to contracts to make it incredibly difficult to keep someone like Reddish if they really wanted him. You're also going to need more than Reddish if you want a player like Bradley Beal, so aim lower than that.
