People dismissed @Fatboi1 posts because he is using some other software to even get the speeds he's getting.Just read through this thread, and cotdamn the TS is on some shyt. Cheap ethernet ports Ignoring one posters pics that contradicts his agenda, then propping another posters pics that supports his agenda then the 2nd posters pics being on a PS3 and not a PS4 running to a mod for no reason trying to get a poster banned out of the thread cause that poster has continually shytted on him
Anyways, as far as the topic goes, I don't understand anyone that doesnt hardwire their system to begin with. Gaming on wireless tells me you're an idiot. I've never had speed issues with any of my systems (360/PS3/PS4) UNTIL I downloaded the Black Ops 3 Beta, which took FOR-EVER. I'm sure that has to do with the amount of ppl that were doing the same, but still, it literally made me not want to play the Beta, which I ended up doing (NOT playing, that is).
Also, ppl posting speedtests, then PS4 tests is pointless. When you speedtest, usually it defaults to a server closest to you, while who knows what Sony is using to test your shyt. It even tells you they're only estimates.
One other thing that ppl should be aware of, is with newer routers, there are features built in to prioritize network traffic (called Q(uality) o(f) S(ervice)). I can't remember if my shyt came enabled by default or not, but I've tinkered with it. For instance, I have my AppleTV (which I use for streaming most of my stuff) set as the higheset priority. Right now I'm watching a baseball game on it, and if I try to download something on my CPU, it will most likely be slow as shyt, unless I stop streaming the game. Using torrents or newsgroups shows how it works perfectly, as once I back out of MLB.TV, the speeds jump up instantly. Just another thing to keep in mind.
There are how many PS4 owners in this thread? He's the only one who's getting speeds anywhere close to what he's seeing on PC. Everybody else who's posted in this thread has admitted that their PS4 speeds are not the same as what they get on PC/Laptop/Xbox One. And this is over wired or wireless connections.
And like I said in the other post, I play online all the time without lag over a wireless connection. Not only do I play games without any lag, but I also stream them on twitch without any problems. If you have a good router, playing games over wifi is more than sufficient for gaming. It's 2015, I'm not hardwiring anything that's not in this office next to my modem.
