i gotta couple theories on this subject
maybe they grew up poor ate shytty/unsafe meat that had to be cook throughly in order to be safe to eat,
maybe they think that the red juice that comes out of medium rare steak is blood,
maybe they are just uninformed and ignorant.
its funny how if you give a piece of medium rare beef to someone who only eats well done they look at you like you are trying to poison them
