You don't get what I'm saying.
Normally he uses his inhouse producers and writes the records from scratch.
It's what he prefers to do, the thing about that though is if he writes the entire record himself then he owns it, so the label can't make cash like that from him.

On his third album they wanted THEIR records on there, using THEIR producers and THEIR concepts.
That's why they were fighting so hard initially because he wanted to do what he'd done on the previous two albums, this time they wanted a large cut (because The Cool was really successful) so they worked out a deal to get their records on his album AND the ones he personally chose to go with the release.
With that said he still managed to make records HE CHOSE TO DO HIMSELF.
His fans just for whatever can't believe that he made music that doesn't really fit the mold he created on TheCool/Food&Liquor.

Even if your point was to be taken seriously he's got a point. A lot of cats seem to ignore the message behind this guys music and only count the number of rhyming schemes and 8 letter words he throws into his bars. Alright so he's dumbed down the way he raps, it's a lot more direct and less poetic which yes is a disappointment but he's actually spitting some real shyt and people seem to let this fly by and comment on how nappy his cornrows are or how lasers was terrible because it didn't have Go go gadget songs any more. If he'd have been spitting like this from the start and switched it up to how he did, you guys would STILL complain!

Lasers wasn't THAT bad. It's average. Food and Liquor 2 will guarantee to shut the haters up. I have no doubt about that.

Lupe has never come out and said before Lasers dropped he was disappointed with the quality of it. Perhaps the direction but not the album itself or the songs on it. All Black Everything, Show goes on and Words I never said are powerful songs. I said it was average but people love to exaggerate. Go check out Future, 'Tony Montana' for terrible music or just be a lot more specific with the way you critique things.
