I can't speak to your personal situation, I hope you get through it. Just always remember this when we see suffering in our lives and the world at large:
A God who is only obvious when times are good isn't really any God at all. When we are great, we mentally feel we don't need out faith. The only God worth having is a God to turn to when everything is going to crap and going wrong. Prayer is not automatic 'get what I want' I hate it when people preach that. A lot of people I know prayed to get rid of their cancer or get their sons off the street and it didn't work. Some would call it proof of no God. I say that we need to realize we can never be in control but must ask for the strength to see what we can't and find ways to do the best with what we have. Sometimes it works out the way we want, other times we will feel let down but there is always another door open we can try to enter.
Only by letting our sufferings temper us and give us the strength to move forward not only to we want but what God says we must do (compassion, love, charity, temperance, etc.) can we get out of the rut. Otherwise, your life may improve but your support will be ephemeral. You fall down again you may never get up.
