Bro that sucks. Condolences. Do you typically adopt your cats from shelters? The thing with Shelter cats is they tend to all be outdoor cats that don’t like indoor very much so you risk things like this happening.

If you plan on getting another Cat find a breed that has been specifically bred to stay indoors or next time diligently train your cat to stay indoors. This is the worst case scenario for Cats owners. Sorry for your loss breh.

Keep Your Cats In The Damn House Why Are Multiple Cats Getting Ran Over By Cars

Easier said than done. Especially for Cats that have come from Shelters that were found in the wild. Since they have already lived outside it becomes very difficult to train to stay indoors. So the minute they see an opening to go outside they take off. Cats are predators by nature so it’s not easy to inhibit those natural instincts to go hunt and shyt.

with that said you can buy Breed specific cat like I did that have been bred to stay indoors. I have a Blue British Shorthair Cat that I paid $2000 for. She stays indoors and for the times she has gotten out she never strays too far because she is scared.

It's best to get kittens so they don't get used to going outside in the first place.

But it really shouldn't be THAT hard to keep a cat inside. Shouldn't even be a training thing...just don't leave the door open :pachaha:

Having indoor/outdoor cats isn't an issue. They get by just fine. One cat getting ran over is an accident. Two cats getting ran over, by the same person no less, is a pattern.

While that particular person might be an issue, indoor/outdoor cats have a MUCH shorter life expectancy in general than indoor-only cats.

Can an Indoor Cat Be a Part-Time Outdoor Cat? | PetMD

The more comfortable life of an indoor cat significantly irncreases his lifespan. An indoor cat may live 15-17 years, while the life expectancy for outdoor cats is only 2-5 years, according to researchers at University of California-Davis.

If you don't want your cat to die young, indoor-only is better by far. :yeshrug:

You would think that, but all it takes is one crack in the door and a lack of awareness for your cat to get outside. Its happened to me a few times with my indoor cat. But luckily my cat is too scared of the outside to venture to far away, so she just starts meowing for me to let her back in.

Just as one of my cats is recovering from being ran over by car like I said in this thread
My cat got run over by car
Another one of my cat just got run over by my neighbor. He didn't make it, and just as we took his body to be buried one of my smaller cat who close to him run and sit beside the puddle of blood trying to find out what happened to his friend. This is so unfair.
