Same thing can happen to the iPhone. When the phone gets hot and you put it on a cold counter top it can easily happen. Nothing to do with build quality.
he came from a 4s and had no issues, but I understand what you are saying, although Im not familiar with issue

Ive NEVER heard of anyones iPhone backpanel cracking from heat.....and iPhones get hot as hell sometimes if you know how to make them.
