i didn't even know you could have that happen. usually that happens when the plug shorts out but the cable is detachable. if they don't look used yeah cop and swap.

Yeah cop you a nice little belkin 3.5 to 3.5 aux cable and keep it rocking. Or try the cop and swap if they are well taken care of.

eye got some Skull candy hash 2.0 but it succs since the wire is detachable so i cant ereally move too much without the sound messing up.

Is there a solution to this?

They can be fixed. I fixed my brothers, but it was a lot of work. Any repair shop would have to charge you more than they are worth to fix them.
