Baby Boy has to be the most unintentional funny movie of all time
Fam, I rewatched Baby Boy a few weeks back and I haven't laughed that hard in a minute like it shouldn't be that funny.

ATL is better, Boyz is way better, The Wood is better. Keep going, I need to watch all these movies.

Doesn't coming of age mean teenage years. Tyrese look like he was playing a 20 something year old in Baby Boy.

Anyway, I'd put The Wood over Baby Boy in that category.

You are correct. He was 20 so technically its not a coming of age. But thats his *shrugs*

Jody out here wit 2 whole families and that nikka talking bout "coming of age" :russ:

And it's "The Wood" for me. That shyt was just as real as the baby boy. Everybody in the hood ain't dealing with baby mama drama.

shyt, that is the point of the movie tho. Even tho he was like 20, he was still walking around like he 16 :yeshrug:. My dude had some maturing to do.

Understood, but I wouldn't call it a "coming of age" movie in the vein of that genre. The reason most coming of age flicks don't have the characters going through the "real" shyt Jody was dealing with is because they're typically not old enough to face those issues yet. Jody was an adult that just wasn't handling adult responsibilities. The comparison is off when looking at the challenges they're expected to face, for the most part. I get it, but wouldn't compare it to the others for that reason.
