I'm a HUGE Batman fanboy, but I really don't think there's ever been a terrible Bats graphic novel. Out of all of them though, Long Halloween and Hush :yeshrug: are my favorite. A really underrated one though is Batman Murderer/Fugitive.

I just ordered Knightfall on Amazon. Never read it before. Anyone who is gearing up for the movie this summer should check it out.

Amazon.com: Batman: Knightfall, Vol. 1 (9781401233792): Chuck Dixon, Doug Moench: Books

It is a good book, but definitely not a Must Read nor as deserving of being placed so high on so many top ten lists.

Oh, and if nobody has read it they need to hunt down ever available trade of Irredeemable.

I consider Kingdom Come a must read for the combination of a really interesting story and the best work that Alex Ross has done in his entire career.

And if we are counting Vertigo I suggest reading WE3 by Grant Morrison and Pride of Baghdad by Brian K. Vaughn. Those are both really good, original stories.

BATMAN: GATES OF GOTHAM is a really good story too, its written by Scott Snyder who is the dude behind the Court of Owls story running in the current Batman comics.

Why did people hate Marvel ultimates so much?

I just felt that they were trying too hard to write something "cool" especially the early Mark Millar stuff where every character was either a smug a$$hole or a total douchebag.

If you happen to see it in your local comic book or book store, grab a few volumes of Alan Moore's Swamp Thing run from the 80's. Great narration and storytelling in there. There's a Batman crossover in one of them that's got this amazing speech he delivers in one interrigation scene.

So you think the dialogue was trash or u just didnt like the contrast between ultimates and the standard punk marvel line?

people dont like change:yeshrug:

Im sorry but that shyt was great. You have all these mutants with powers doing cut throat things in comics but its still displayed in a light kinda way. With ultimates, the gloves were off. Everyone was getting obliterated.
