I agree. It's like it's trying to capture a vibe or an era rather than feeling genuine.

It's not even a particularly good song. A lot of people that grew up on RnB that sounded similar to this laud it because of that very reason.

The songs feels like a carbon copy of a lot of late-90s - early-2000s RnB songs. The only thing relatively modern is when she calls the guy her twin.
