You don't follow that a guy who is living in his manager moms basement is broke?

This idea that he 'doesnt want to spend all his cash' and he 'tours so much he shouldnt buy a house' is non sense.

Owning a home is not 'wasting money'

owning a home is a big commitment, especially in this shakey real estate market. maybe he hasn't decided where he wants to be

maybe he knows his 'advance' is just that, and doesn't wanna get stuck in a hole like other cats

you can call it "non sense" (lol, it's one word) if you want, but just because it doesn't make sense to you, doesn't mean it isn't true. if he doesn't have any money, he's "broke". but I'm probably making the mistake of applying strict logic to a thread where people just want to see the cac fail...

Its a big commitment to people who are broke or work regular jobs. Not a guy who supposedly is a mainstream rapper with songs on NFL Network and the radio. The guy is getting spins all over and he has to live in someone elses basement? Don't try to play the 'im just using logic' card because logically it makes more sense to invest your money in real estate than it does to spend it renting a room. Also, don't try to play the race card...im white.

Who gives a fukk if its one word or two breh? :comeon:

the logic I'm using is that being broke means you got no money. living in someone's basement is not 'proof' someone is broke. especially when we're talking about someone that never had anything. if he had some pimp shyt, and was now living in a basement, it would be more conclusive. but the situation as it is can be easily explained by just saying he's sitting on his loot while he figures out what he's gonna do

the fact he has a little buzz, and a few songs out there, hardly makes it "logical" to jump into a 20-30 year investment. that's the trap so many cats fall into. they get some loot, act like they're gonna be making money like that forever, and then end up fuct when the money dries up. how many times have we seen these stories? yall put these cats in a lose/lose situation. they can't spend too much money, or too little. fukkin Goldilocks status cats want their porridge just right

What he had before means nothing, I don't follow your logic. He has a million dollar record deal behind him. The fact he lives in a basement now, regardless of his situation 10 years ago, sends a strong signal he is broke.

It can be easily explained that he doesn't have money. Not that hes 'plotting' on what to do with it. He can't find a house to buy in Cleveland? Im sure Ohio pays people to live there now

Sure it does. People who work regular jobs get homes. A guy who signs million dollar deals and will get residuals its out of the question? And you can always sell a house, you aren't locked in for 30 years. When you rent and your money is pissed away, what do you have to show for it?

Buying a house in Cleveland is hardly some outlandish thing. You are making it sound like its the same as buying a 100k chain or a 250k Bentley. We are talking about a regular ass house. Not a mansion, not an entire block, SOMETHING other than a friends basement.

Im just really confused on why you are even defending dood like this. There is a much better chance hes hurting for money than he is 'masterminding a plan on what to do with his money' He talks about spending all this money on porn in interviews but we are supposed to believe hes Warren Buffet plotting what to do with his cash?

You nikkas fall for the simplest marketing :heh: MGK is not broke, but he will be buzzing in the hip hop media because of this publicity stunt masquerading as a news story :snoop:

daze23 you are a real cool poster so don't take this the wrong way or anything but why are you asking dumb questions that don't really apply to what we are talking about? You are the one saying that he came from nothing so hes 'not broke' I simply pointed out that 'came from nothing' is long gone after he signed that million dollar deal. It is very possible he wasted his money partying, giving it to friends, who knows. I do know he can't get his own place. You don't think its weird hes essentially renting a room?

Look if a regular ass person like you and I can go to work and afford our own place to live I think it's fair to say that MGK can do the same. If you and I were working but still living in a relatives basement people would say we are hurting/broke.

dude got a $1 million advance a year ago, and still hasn't dropped an album. why would it be "logical" to spend that money?

I stand by what I said. living in a basement doesn't conclusively prove someone is "broke"

just because something doesn't make sense to you, doesn't mean it doesn't happen. cats here can have their fun, and draw whatever conclusions they want. but I could give a fukk about what assumptions 'most' people make. that's a fallacy known as the "Appeal to Common Practice"

Listen I despise MGK more than anyone else in the game right now, but you guys are doing too much.

Whether or not he will ultimately get jerked is a totally different question, but currently for him to say he lives in his manager's basement is just part of his image. He's "young and doesn't care." In reality he's touring to promote himself 364 days a year and doesn't need a crib yet. He's still trying to get on. Dude's got a kid though, bet his BM's situation is better than it was.

Because you were asking a question you knew the answer to. You were looking for a certain 'a-ha' moment after my response instead of what we were talking about, which is how this is looked at as bummy even by regular guy standards.

You are doing the same thing you are talking down on. You assume that he is telling the truth, that this is just 'his idea to save money' because you know being broke in Hip Hop is a death sentence. When in reality for anyone else, if they were in that situation, would be looked at as broke.

Moving into a friends mom's house doesn't sound like a preventive measure when you are sitting on tons of cash. No matter what your financial situation and especially not if you are supposedly a mainstream rapper.
