in the comics she is still a devout muslim along with her family and it revolves her belief system. Eid Mubrak also recently passed in April and showing that in this series makes since its what makes up her personality (outside of being a geek)

Also side note, no one is shoving anything down your throat (pause). If you hate Allah then just....pick another show?

I think all the Muslim Indian/Pakistani culture stuff is the best part of the show and makes it original. If this was some paint by numbers High school shyt I doubt I would watch.
The mystery about her grandmother, the origin of the bangle and what Damage Control's motives are is also interesting.

Just finished episode 2 and the show is great so far. The inclusion of her family and their religion is a nice touch and actually adds a lot to her story. I would love to see who else they had in contention for Kamala'a part because the actress is killing it.

Folks saying her parents are too strict but that's how tons of religious families are; kids just can't do whatever and go as they please like some of y'all did.
