This show is probably the most accurate with computer tech. It takes a few liberties but a lot of the syntax for Linux is correct and its not some floating numbers, 3D columns of data, two people on one keyboard bullshyt like Hackers and NCIS. It's 2019 and Elliot still has a CD/DVD-R drive. That's some "I don't want people to see shyt" stuff. The other really impressive hacking part is the social hacking he did early in the show. That's that real snooper BS that hackers do. Also he can pick locks, that's like an impressive trick for hackers.
I'm not a hacker but I know my way around computers.

Timestamps shown onscreen showed that this is still Christmas 2015 on the show. The technology SHOULD be a little behind.

And yeah the social engineering/hacking aspect is also very underrated.
Oh and the show’s timeline is currently late 2015 so I think some of the technology is purposely dated.

I was rewatching the first season and you can clearly tell when someone else is talking with the mask on whether it's Tyrell Darlene or mr. Robot. Esmail is doing that on purpose. Whatever big reveal is coming we will instantly get it and be able to track it from the first episode. Tbh I have no idea what that is
