Mr. Robot just earned its spot in the top 5 TV shows of all time

It's overrated

The directing, cinematography, and acting are top notch but the story is convoluted, ridiculous, and unrealistic. It's also pretentious af with the whole "unreliable narrator", "what's real and what isn't real?", and split personality, Fight Club rip off crap.

The story is a little bit convoluted no doubt.

But re: the bolded. I see it more as paying homage to Fight Club and turning it into something else, because it doesn't even try to trick you with the twist. It basically lets you know right out of the gate that that's about to happen. I never felt like they were earnestly trying to pull the wool over anyone's eyes on that.

I always mention Mr. Robot when discussing all-time tv shows with people. It's surprising how many people are kinda, "eh, I'll check it out." about it.

Whatever, whatever. I'll keep pushing it.

Yup. Esmail was never shy about Fight Club being an influence. He even said that Mr. Robot being a split personality wasn't supposed to be a twist, Darlene being his sister was.

I dont know about top 5 but its more consistent than top tv shows. There maybe 2 filler episodes but i wouldnt even call them filler.

It just has to stick its landing. I cant name a top 5 show that has.
