Let's be honest though, it's only for nostalgia reasons. It's a mpc 4000 at a pawn shop near me for $400 that I'm about to buy for that reason. But after seeing the live and the X what other reason what someone still need the 1000/2000/2500/3000 for?
i fukked with hardware with bad review like the su700(shyt brokedown pads ripped in half) love that machine @TEKBEATZ
but this machine i know has bad reviews but i wanted it for a minute if i see at a pawn shop and not ebay
plus im getting a dope video/audio interface that vestax makes
I used to think like that, but sometimes less is more.
Sometimes these new hardware's have so much screens menus it disrupts the workflow.
What about this
Nah. Even if it's for nostalgia purposes the authenticity of the sound there will always be a niche for old hardware. Thats like thinking people dont/wont want classic cars because newer cars are made better, safer, faster, more powerful....Mpc live and mpc x will make the old mpc's useless
Your sorta right.. But it also on the user.. Ill fukk with anything as long as it fits me.. And what i wanna do.. But old hardware has a sound to it.. But nowadays u can integrate old with new with easeNah. Even if it's for nostalgia purposes the authenticity of the sound there will always be a niche for old hardware. Thats not what i ment.. Live or x on paper is the perfect machine integrated software.. Standalone.. Easy storage.. I use my asr-x with ableton exporting beats. Midi isnt really a standard anymore. I use it but its not.. They throw it on devices still for it to sell i a little but more .. Midi like scsi as far as relevance. I use it any form of technology with music i dont give a fukk ..i dont like favoring new or old.. I used to be like that.Integration has always been possible through midi. shyt you can play your melody from reason and pump the drums on an mpc or sp1200.
I like hardware regardless at the end of the day it's an instrument. I know some cats that can draw notes and sequences on fl and put together songs without using a midi keyboard it's not a necessity, for me I like the instrumentation of it.
I see what u mean with that last point yea l like to see how i can find a way to tie old and new to get a nice work flow goingIntegration has always been possible through midi. shyt you can play your melody from reason and pump the drums on an mpc or sp1200.
