I remember reading about them doing a part 2 from the same night but from another group of peoples perspective... that was like 2 months after the original came out & Abrams is getting a lot of work right now so I guess he scrapped the idea... :manny:

The Incredibles.

Goddamn wtf?

Pixar wants Brad Bird at the helm and he has yet to thoroughly develop a story that would fit a film’s running time:

“I think the reason it hasn’t [happened] yet is because the studio would like me to do it, if there were another Incredibles,” he explained. “And I’ve told them that I’m not really friendly to have someone else take away my child.” He indicated he had come up with several concepts which he thinks would make for a good sequel, but refuses to rush them into production just for the sake of the film’s moneymaking potential. “I would like to think that I have several good ideas that could be incorporated into a next Incredibles, but I don’t have a whole movie yet, and the last thing I want to do is do it just because it would open big, or something like that.”

Not only did Bird direct the film, but he also wrote it, so his vision was incredibly important to the way the film turned out. It makes sense that both he and Pixar would want him to be the go-to guy for a sequel if it ever happens.

Additionally, as we have heard in many interviews with various individuals at Pixar, Bird does not want to move ahead with a sequel until he has developed a great idea for the storyline:

“I want to do it because I have something that will be as good or better than the original,” he insisted. “Toy Story 2 was, to me, a perfect sequel, because it absolutely respected the first film but found new places to go without selling out its characters. So if I could come up with an idea that is to Incredibles that Toy Story 2 is to Toy Story, I would do it in a second.”

I COULD RESPECT THAT. I CAN ALSO LIVE WITH HOW HE ENDED THE FIRST ONE. HE JUST SHOWED THAT HE COULD DO ANOTHER BUT HE WRAPPED UP THE FIRST ONE PRETTY GOOD.

IN PRIEST THEY DIDN'T WRAP ANYTHING UP AND THEY LEFT IT WIDE OPEN. I FELT LIKE I PAID FOR HALF A MOVIE.
