a movie? what and why?

also, it's been a minute since i've felt that way about any movie... looking for some suggestions as to what movies hit you the most and got you thinking about em days, weeks, months after you've seen em

last one i can think of for me was Into the Wild w/ Emile Hirsch, the balls on this kid to just say F*CK life and do what he wanted the way he wanted. really wish i had the nuts to buck conventional culture and just do what i wanted...plus that soundtrack with eddie vedder was just amazing.

mind if I ask what the personal connection was?

With Star Trek I relate a lot to this new version of Kirk. Especially with him missing a parent. So his whole journey of being less angry about it and growing up and having to take control of his life while still being this brash cocky dude. Plus my mom passed that gear so when Spock lost his mom on Vulcan it damn near took me to tears. Same with Super 8, which is probably why I love that movie as much as I do. And I can add Skyfall to that list too for much of the same reasons. The core of that movie is really about a guy coming to grips with losing his mom.

With casino royale it's just that thing of falling for a woman after saying I wouldn't and then dealing with the pain of losing her and what that does to you internally and emotionally.

The count of monty cristo :wow:

The guy lost so many years of his lives because of jealousy. He was happy for his friend who had everything when he had nothing and still he got betrayed.

But then you see him get prepared: learning to read, write and swordfight. :blessed:

And when everything falls into place and takes it all back on some :demonic::banderas:

Those are three movies I wish I had a real emotional connection with. The way I feel about the harry potter movies is the way cats i know feel about those movies and it's definitely a good feeling to have.
