lmfao that movie was ridiculous. I remember liking it as a kid for some reason, probably the bytches.Josie & the Pu$$ycats but with subminal mind control with product placement
But no troll, it was the plot of the movie
Its a movie aimed towards young to preteen girls (my age group at the time) so of course you'd think that.
But I still watch it and get good laughs out of it

One of the hosts on my favorite podcast actually vouches for that movie hard and think it has a lot to say about commercialization and the music industry and believes it's a really clever satire of all that and the typical movies about the music industry

The original is decent but the 1978 remake far surpasses it IMO. It's not even close.
Same thing with Carpenter's The Thing being far better than the original.
