my favorite food scene and the one that makes me the MOST hungry is when the father uses some of his last money to buy his son that mozzarella sandwich in the bicycle thief 
the fish and chips scene in trainspotting
and the godfather probably had the smartest use of food with the symbolism of any movie ive seen

in addition to all the piff italian food they had, the scene where they sit around chinese takeout and plan the hit really drives home the idea that even these mobsters behave like the rest of america ... matter of fact paid in full does the same thing thirty years later
