A Red Wing TV series!

:banderas:

a pet avengers cartoon aimed at kids could work. give steve and tony a pet, bring in lockheed and lockjaw, make a villain hydra thats 3 different peet lizards and have beta ray show up, but they constantly call him thorse so he bails on em

studios need to learn the difference between trends and cult followings.

Comic movies aren't successful because thats the style now. They're sucessful because all the fans who grew reading them and watching the cartoons are now grown with their own disposable income. The X-men came with a fanbase already. It wasn't some flash in the pan hit. My pops had been reading that shyt since the 1970s and turned me on to it in the 90s.
That said not every comic character has a devoted fan base. Of course X-men and spiderman would be successful, they were the most successful comics. But other properities are still at risk of flop. My motto is if the character had a successful solo comic series they can have a successful solo movie. If nobody read that characters comic, chances are it might still flop as a movie. Case and point: Hulk, popular character when teamed with others in the comics. But his solo runs tend to below average number except for few select arcs. His Cartoon series in 90s was not the least successful but wasn't close to the most successful either. And low and behold his solo movies followed that same trend.

You hit the nail on the head, but also with these series being live action reality TV shows it also taught me that people will pretty much watch any of these "gritty" reality shows even if they don't have a good hook. Just as long as it takes itself seriously people will watch it, that NCIS, Law & Order, etc. type shyt. If you show it in animated form certain people won't take it seriously no matter what it is. People have been conditioned to that shyt.

but Static Shock has yet to be made....:stopitslime:

I haven't seen that Black Lightning show but IMO that's a show that's better animated, the special effects don't lend themselves well to a live action reality TV series. People would watch it, I know I would, but it doesn't translate all that well.

Plus the cartoon had a lot of life lessons and crossover guests (Karl Malone, Justice League, etc.) that probably couldn't be pulled off in a live action show. A lot of that is what kept the show interesting and good to watch. In that way it was kind of like a superhero sitcom.
