I mean…capitalism necessitates infinite growth. The world is only so large. We are actively destroying entire habitats for these animals and they have nowhere to go because we just got to have these cookie cutter suburban homes and gas stations. an animal desperate enough to come to a human living area will probably do it again, and the next time it would be another animal or child. I blame the human infinitely more than I could the animal.

This. My wife and I watch the house YouTubers and as beautiful as some of the houses be, anytime you got those open layouts, my hood side kick in. I would never be able to be comfortable with the whole side of my house open. I’d constantly be anxious like who or what about to come in.

I kept my sliding porch door unlocked for like 10 years no issue. Don't let your PTSD win. Coming from a place where we couldn't leave doors open cuz we had venomous snakes outside. I take my chances.
