I'm not going to argue with any of you. Raise your kids how you want to. If you think you're going to treat guns the same way you treat drugs and sex and come out with different results, then good luck to ya.

I'm a believer in deterrence through education and a believer in harm reduction.

And no, I didn't say bring your guns to school. Just that it used to be acceptable in the pre-Color TV era in many areas. If you were a gunowner you're supposed to familiarize it to your kids, both its uses and dangers. Governor Reagan started the gun-phobia era... Then President Reagan started the mental-health crises era... and the drug-crisis era... and the healthcare-cost crisis era.

I didn't say otherwise. But when you teach your kids about the good and bad about guns, it prevents shyt like this from happening.

No amount of jail time is going to affect the next kid from stealing their parent's or sibling's gun. The next kid don't give a shyt about someone else's folks doing time over it.
