Then they try to tie in at the end of the episodes a "bigger arc" like its 1997 x files in this bytch :russ:

They bout to do the same shyt on NBC again with this trash lookin show:

http://www.nbc.com/state-of-affairs

Hope they dont ask why shows keep getting cancelled with this wack shyt :mjlol:

nikkas already talked about how they almost fukked up Hannibal the same way. nikkas had a different serial killer every week for the 4 episodes i saw :lolshaq:

Does anyone know if they did the same shyt with Agent of Shield?

Meanwhile the GOAT shows are serialized: Sopranos, Breaking Bad, The Wire, Game of Thrones, Boardwalk. :whew:

You do realize that aside from one, every show you named is on a premium cable network where the business works differently? Premium cable greenlights fewer shows, and when they do, they order a full season run and let it play out regardless of how it's performing, and then assess whether or not to bring it back after the smoke clears. Those channels can afford to be more patient because their business is based on suscription.

On cable, and especially on the hyper competitive network TV (where basically every show is monster of the week) when a show gets greenlit, they usually only get a sure-fire 6-12 episodes, and the network is on their ass week in and week out to deliver ratings, because there's a half-dozen shows they have sitting in the wings as mid-season replacements they also have money invested into. Basic cable and especially network tv have MUCH shorter leashes. Writers of these shows can't afford to slowly build to a climax. They have to bang in viewers every week or that's their ass.

Because IMO doing a heavy-serialized show for 22-24 episodes a season is not sustainable. A serialized show with a good mix of standalone episodes mixed in that allows for more character development is the right format for a full network television schedule.

And yes "Agents of Shield" did that format.

Basically. You run out of story if that's what you're doing. Seinfeld did it for a season and it worked well because they mixed in the stand alone episodes while keeping the main arc going in one way or another.

I agree with this post but Agents of Shield was a poor example

Person of Interest is best procedural/serialized hybrid show on right now IMO

The Blacklist also did it well last season

I like it when Supernatural does it.
Supernatural is the GOAT supernatural tv show in the history of television...

(1) the way they mix all these different religions and myths is dope...

(2) They don't have that typical "my one true love" or the theme where "two people love each other but they can never be together" because of some BS excuse...

I wish Supernatural was on HBO or something like that...It's good watching a show with two brothers just going around and kicking asss without all that BS "one true love" theme that 99.9% of Tv Shows crutch on...
