If we’re talking core teams that never won then it’s almost definitely the 90’s Knicks but those 2009-10 Jets teams are right up there as a close second. My family had season tickets in 2010 and every game felt like something genuinely special was brewing. Still to this day there’s no doubt in my mind that if they get the stop on 3rd down in Pittsburgh that they go the length of the field and win the game :francis:

2010-11 Bulls led by “why can’t I be MVP” Derrick Rose in only his third season. Best record in the league. Swept super team Miami in the regular season, but lost a close series in 5 to that same Heat team.

2006-07 Chicago Bears that lost in the Super Bowl, led by a great defense and rookie Devin Hester was going nuts with all those TD returns

1998 Chicago Cubs with rookie Kerry Wood throwing 20 strikeouts in a single game. Same season Steve Bartman interfered and the Cubs proceeded to choke the rest of that game and game 7, preventing them from going to the World Series

1994 Chicago White Sox in the strike season when Frank Thomas won MVP. Sox probably would’ve won it all that year.
You’re getting cubs shyt all mixed up :dahell:. The Bartman incident was 2003. 1998 was the home run chase where Sammy Sosa won the MVP and led them to the playoffs when Harry Carey died right before the season started.

Well shyt, both those seasons. I didn’t even watch baseball like that but I was keeping up with them during that home run race in 1998 (Kerry Wood’s rookie season) and when they were a game from the World Series in 2003. Crazy thing is the White Sox won it all two years later, but Frank Thomas wasn’t that dude anymore. Still got a ring though.

The 1999 New York Knicks were one of my favorite teams

Upset the Heat, went to the Finals, and gave the Spurs all they could handle. Marcus Camby coming out party as an elite player

Since the Nets are now in Brooklyn, I'll count the New Jersey Nets as well. The 2000-2003 NJ Nets were easily my favorite NY/NJ team ever. Jason Kidd was the GOAT when I was a kid, the way he used to control the game with his passing and intelligence. Miss that team

1999 Buffalo Sabres..i used to love watching that scrappy team!! Dominik Hasek was at his apexz coming off a Gold Medal in 98, I believe. Stuffing Shanny in the shootout to defeat Canada. Michael Peca was a Selke guy, Miroslav Satan would score timely goals. Was heartbroken when they lost in OT of Game 6 of the SCF. The infamous Brett Hull goal which changed the crease rules.

Yeah that shouldn't have been a goal. That was a tough 7 months for Buffalo fans. That goal and the Music City Miracle

Excellent point. Thanks for the reminder. Just pure heartache and devastation. Both teams had special defenses, too.
