they'd rather live in a bubble and avoid facing it. this is a classic example.
this dude saw this chick on TV and noticed she was on the bigger side. he called her out on it and instead of acknowledging it she goes into this defensive rant about how he's bullying her and made a hurtful attack on her appearance. she read that letter and he came at her about as non-confrontational as possible.
honestly the truth doesn't hurt its people's inability to accept it that causes them pain.
