Most of you have no idea what Martin Luther King actually did

Exactly this. Do you know how many times I've read on this site that MLK Jr. was just about "marching", as if they really think the entire American experience changed and White people transformed Black rights in America because someone did a march?

I'd cosign that.

It was WAY more than that too though.

People do a terrible job of missing all the shyt that actually made the CRM work. The degree of organizing, the degree of mass cooperation, the economic beatings they gave to Southern businesses, the government services they forced to a standstill, the legal actions in the court, the brilliant manipulation of public narratives and the media, and the willingness to do all that in the face of real risks to one's own life and safety, it was a fukking OPERATION for 15+ years and people try to reduce it into good feelings and the same disorganized half-committed bullshyt you see too often today.
It was a direct quote from the article.

I was so angry at Mrs. Clinton during the primaries when she said that Dr. King marched, but it was LBJ who delivered the Civil Rights Act.

That’s crazy if she really said that, she just keep putting her foot in her mouth during that whole campaign, it shouldn’t be a surprise why she lost

A lot of people believe that, including people on this forum.

You know I used to agree that we don’t need to have slave movies or rosewood type movies every year but I think I’ve changed my mind on that cause I don’t think “black” people really don’t understand what was going on back in the day, to the point where they go out they way to diminish Mlk cause somebody told them too,
Then have the nerve to big up Malcolm x

You still think Mlk a c00n?

I think he never preached what he really felt. He never trusted CAC liberals. And he knew the civil rights act wasn’t going to be enough.

He wanted reparations but never consistently pushed for them.

And when he did, he miraculously got killed soon after.

They believe more in government that does nothing than the people that push for change.
You know if MLK was alive today higher learning libs would be yelling at him to quiet down with the civil rights stuff so close to elections because it will negatively affect polls for a pro-police, anti-union centrist democrat in Missouri's 4th congressional district.

100%

They would hate the activism and would tell them it's not helping Democrats.

Here's the exact quote. The context was Obama's speeches and she tried to make it about MLK being a good speaker but supposedly not being enough to actually change things:

Mrs. Clinton made the remark last Monday as part of her latest political argument that Mr. Obama was an eloquent speaker but not a proven force for change, a description she is applying to herself.

“I would point to the fact that that Dr. King’s dream began to be realized when President Johnson passed the Civil Rights Act of 1964, when he was able to get through Congress something that President Kennedy was hopeful to do, the president before had not even tried, but it took a president to get it done,” she said. “That dream became a reality, the power of that dream became real in people’s lives because we had a president who said we are going to do it and actually got it accomplished.”

She was basically saying, "Obama might make nice speeches but I'm the one who is going to be able to get things done", and chose the most idiotic way possible to try to make that point.

I don’t even think it’s idiotic in the sense that she didn’t mean to say it like that, I think she purposefully and strategically said it like that
Same goes for Biden, Them Dixie crats know what they be doing

I think there was a degree of intentionality but it's still stupid because she's not going to fulfill her aims that way. Trump drops racist dog whistles that land with the audience he's aiming at. This one only backfired on her. And equating Obama with MLK wasn't exactly going to do her any favors.

Biden definitely has had some prejudiced thoughts underlying himself but he says so much stupid shyt in the moment that I don't know you can claim anything he does is strategic.

It may not be strategic but sometimes you can get a glimpse of his real feelings
