Luca Brasi. How could you forget him?

I watched the Godfather this week for the first time since I got the DVD set in 2001 or so. One thing that surprised me is that it seems Luca Brasi is a much more minor character than I remembered. Correct me if I'm wrong, but we just see him the scene where he meets with Vito at the wedding, and in the scene where he dies. He's only really noteworthy for the "bandleader" story (which we don't see) and for sleeping with the fishes.

He was way more fundamental in the book. In fact there was supposed to be a movie about him and Sonny Corleone but it never came into development.

Fun fact: The scene where Luca was practicing his speech to the Don, he (the actor) was actually practicing his lines from the actual script, so they included it.
