Capcom Might Be Teasing A Resident Evil 3 Remake
Capcom Might Be Teasing A Resident Evil 3 Remake
A recent tweet by Capcom might be teasing a remake of
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.
Resident Evil 3 started out as more of a spin-off game than a full sequel, as Capcom intended
Resident Evil - Code: Veronica to be the true third title. This early version would have seen Umbrella soldier Hunk stranded on a cruise ship infested with human/plant hybrids, but Capcom had a change of heart and decided to end
Resident Evil’s PlayStation 1 era with more of a bang.
Resident Evil 3 thus finds fan-favorite Jill Valentine stranded in Racc00n City as it falls apart due to the zombie outbreak. She also finds herself targeted by the Nemesis - a super-powered,
Terminator-like foe created by Umbrella to silence witnesses to their evil schemes. This creature was a terrifying addition to the series, being that it took a lot of firepower to put down - albeit temporarily - and chased players from room to room. The Nemesis became one of the most iconic creatures in the series, even though
Resident Evil 3 itself wasn't as highly regarded as the first two entries.

After years of fan requests, Capcom has finally unveiled their upcoming remake of
Resident Evil 2, which is arguably the best title in the franchise. The game has been given a top to bottom overhaul, and fans are already hoping
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis might get a similar makeover. Now a tweet on
Resident Evil’s official
Twitter profile has re-ignited those calls, with Capcom taking a picture of Nemesis on Friday the 13th.
Obviously, that’s not much to go on and is likely just what it appears to be, but it could also be Capcom internally testing the waters to see how fans respond. The
Resident Evil 2 remake will be released in January 2019, but there appears to be no solid plans for the game series beyond that.
Given the fan love for
Resident Evil 3, it wouldn’t be a huge shock if the publisher decided to dive straight into a
Nemesis reboot. Aside from the games, the
Resident Evil movie series with Milla Jovovich called it a day with
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter in 2017, and while a movie reboot was teased, it seems a TV series might be in the cards instead. No plot details have been revealed yet, but a show would certainly be a fresh angle for the franchise to explore.
