Your fear is Sharia law being the national law of Britain. You don't really care if some Muslims wish to practice Sharia law in regards to marriage/divorce. It won't become the national law. Moreover, if Sharia is practiced in regard to court or divorce decisions in Britain - it's not a huge deal. Even if it wasn't formalized, it would be conventionally used putting women at greater risk given the problems of sharia law regarding gender inequality.

I can see why these courts are formalized for marriage/divorce. It's for harm reduction. Similar to how there are safe-injection sites for some people.

In so far as some traditionalist Muslims want to have Sharia governing affairs relating to marriage/divorce - the state has an interest to see what's going on. If they didn't formalize it, it would be an old imam from Peshawar governing these affairs.

Yeah, Afghanistan's culture is on equal footing with ours.

There are inferior cultures. Its a relative subject so we're comparing their culture to ours. If they're still doing irrational shyt that we stopped doing hundreds of years ago, then yeah, we're superior cuz we learned and adapted.
