That Mos/Madlib Zambian rock album sounds :wow:

The band WITCH Lib was talking about are one of my favorites. Lib actually sampled them on his Beat Konducta in Africa album.

:ohlawd:

And DOOM needs to quit making garbage ass albums like that JJ Doom trash and feed us with MVII and DOOMSTARKS. But dude has been deeply frustrating for years and I doubt we see either record :beli:

I just started fukking with WITCH. They had some FIRE.:ohhh: I can absolutely see Madlib fukking with their music

There were some really dope rock bands in Africa around the late 60's and early 70's.:banderas:

that 1970s Zambian psychedelic Rock album we still ain’t got from :francis:

Dude's done so many projects that he refuses to drop, it's crazy.

Hi-Tek said he had mad music with Mos from like '97, when he was working with Mike Zoot, that never saw the light of day. He said he thinks if Mos put out his unreleased sh*t it would be classic like BOBS. Shawn J has a lot of music with Mos that never came out too. I don’t understand that dude.

he really has.

i believe that, 100%

remember back when he was working with Dame and doing the BlackRoc project? which actually did get released, lol

i remember yasiin saying he got unreleased music with DOOM, Madlib and of course, the Mannie Fresh produced album, "As Promised"

back when he was promoting his album, Negus, look at what he said in this interview with VIBE magazine when asked about the Mannie Fresh produced album:

"I have these really special projects. I still have them—Black Star, Mannie Fresh, stuff with me and DOOM on the low. I have stuff with me and Madlib, I work with Glasper and Trill. But it’s all for me, and solely for me, it’s about a matter of placement. Where things go. For me, these works are living organisms. Putting them in the proper environment is just as key as making useful work. So for me, where it goes is just as important as what it is, particularly at this point. To some degree or another, it’s always been that way for me. Who are our partners in this? What are our shared objectives and goals? How are we looking at this? Are we making the same movie, film, album, concert? What are the principles of importance to us as a group? Individually, but as we come together to do this thing because all of it is a collaborative and community effort. None of this happens in a vacuum; it requires the effort of a lot of people, and many people attached to those people. It’s this ecosystem, and that’s why I’ve been very careful, particularly with the works over the last six to seven years, since 2011-2012. Where are we putting what we do? Let’s really explore the options available to us, be patient, and pick the most suitable situation that achieves good aims that we can all participate in, feel good about, and leave feeling good about. We want to have success, we want it to be viable business, we want clear proof of concept. We want to be proud of what we do. But at the same time, it’s no rush. As it’s been said to me, things of quality have no fear of time. It feels like it’s all coming together."

@Awesome Wells

i think a lot of what happened and continues to happen to an extent is, he falls in love with the music he's making and loves the writing/recording process of it but then when it comes time to deal with the business side of things, he becomes disillusioned with it all.

this is why we get these unorthodox rollouts of albums.

one thing i wonder is, outside of touring, how does this man pay his bills? lol

Truth.

There's a lot of legends who just want to create, but they're not into what follows. The problem with Mos, is that he shows people he's working on sh*t, teases them with acting like he'll get it out someday, and then vanishes.

As far as paying his bills, he said he can't most of the time. HAHA! He was in court with all his baby moms saying he ain't got the money.

exactly!

he really strikes me as an "artist's artist". he is solely about his art and that's it.

yeah, so it leads up to some hype for a few seconds and then in the blink of an eye, he's gone.

lol. i do remember one of his exes taking him to court back when he was on tour with Badu and him saying he ain't have the bread :francis:
