Take from Madlib's mouth:

You're making an album with Mos Def that's inspired by Zambian rock from the 1970s. How did that come about?
We've been working on it for a long time. I've got a lot of unreleased tracks with him, and when he comes to L.A., we link up. I showed him all the Zambian stuff from the group Witch that [Now-Again Records' Eothen "Egon" Alapatt] released on Now-Again. Mos loved it. I have another album, too, full of all Indian Bollywood sampling stuff that I did with Mos. We'll hopefully put out an album of that later.

So we have OMFGOD with Mannie Fresh and a Zambia Rock and Indian Bollywood sampled albums with Madlib.

For the DOOM fans:

Will the Madvillain sequel ever see the light of day?
I handed all the beats to Doom years ago, but ever since he's been in Europe, he's been hard to get a hold of. I feel it probably won't happen, but you never know. I can't sit and wait on that. I did my part.

I don't necessarily believe this because it's nothing for DOOM to take the heat. Also, in that latest Wu-Tang interview, Ghostface Killah said to watch for new releases in the next 24 months. That's probably DOOMSTARKS. Still odd that he framed it in a two year window.

That Mos/Madlib Zambian rock album sounds :wow:

The band WITCH Lib was talking about are one of my favorites. Lib actually sampled them on his Beat Konducta in Africa album.

:ohlawd:

And DOOM needs to quit making garbage ass albums like that JJ Doom trash and feed us with MVII and DOOMSTARKS. But dude has been deeply frustrating for years and I doubt we see either record :beli:

The Madlib interview came out today and I just happened to read it. This Madlib interview has a snippet of Mos and Madlib at 2:59 - 3:30. I did not know that it was albums worth of material. I thought is was left overs that didn't make it.

Of course it sounds good for 30 in and out seconds but we need an official sample.

I disagree that JJ DOOM was trash. It's just not was cats expected. DOOM went off on Guv'nor, Banished, Bite The Thong, Rhymin Slang, Dawg Friendly, GMO, Winter Blues & Wash You Hands. Lest I not mention that Jneiro Jarel was a fool on them beats.

@Nagra You estimations are still too premature. We definitely won't see and Mos X Madlib before the Mannie project.
