I'm excited to announce that I've partnered with the world's leading sample I.D. website, WhoSampled.com to bring you my Hip Hop Tribute To Aretha Franklin. Many know her as the 'Queen Of Soul', but may not realize that she could also be considered the Queen of Hip Hop Samples, with her music being used in hundreds of songs. This is not meant to be a compilation of her greatest hits....Instead, I've compiled some of my favorite hip hop tracks that sampled her music, while incorporating Aretha's original work, as well as my own custom blends, flips, & edits.

Chris does make dope mixes but this isn't one of their mixes ... .I created the mix, and contacted them to see if they liked it and wanted to partner up on this project since it involves samples. They liked my mix, and decided to put it out on their platform

This is a blend I created as a hip hop tribute to the Queen Of Soul, Aretha Franklin. For those who don't already know, producer Ayatollah originally sampled Aretha Franklin's "One Step Ahead" to create the beat for Mos Def's "Ms Fat Booty". For Aretha's verses, I blended it over Ayatollah's drums so it hits harder. For Mos Def's 1st verse, I deconstructed the Aretha sample, and rebuilt Ayatollah's beat adding some changes of my own. Mos' 2nd verse is from the retail version.
