The Food and Drug Administration said Tuesday that it would make the most widely known morning-after pill available without a prescription to girls and women ages 15 and older, and also make the pill available on drugstore shelves, instead of keeping it locked up behind pharmacy counters.

Until this decision the pill, Plan B One-Step, which is used after sexual intercourse to help prevent pregnancy, was available without a prescription only for ages 17 and older.

its a lot cheaper than a kid :heh:

Which is even more reason why it should cost less. Lets be real, the types of people who need moring after pills are the same ones who end up on welfare. It would be very cost effective for the American economy if the pregnancies were prevented.

Furthermore the idea of easy access to contraception is so that young women don't have to jump through a bunch of embarrassing hoops to get the contraception. Making them available OTC is a step in the right direction, but if a 15 year old girl has to scrape up $50 to buy it, then it's not very accessible.

Not when you're poor. The government will provide all you need.
Once again too busy demonizing poor people to get the bigger picture. The goverment provides much more for people after a baby is born, they'd actually be saving money by subsidizing morning after pills.
