The idea that we need to elect republicans to deal with crime, has been thrown around and written about locally. :pachaha:

Which is insanely stupid for Californians because Republican leadership produces more violence than Democratic leadership.

Just looking at California, 4 of the 5 most violent cities (Stockton, Bakersfield, Fresno, and San Bernardino) have Republican mayors. Where has that gotten them?

Nationally it's just as obvious that "electing Republicans to solve crime" doesn't do shyt:

Dems think Americans are more concerned with abortions than economic insecurity and that is a tragic mistake.

:francis:

Dems aren't exactly the ones who thrust abortion into the headlines.

I'm pretty sure the Dems would do everything to create a perfect economy if they could. The issue is that unemployment is already low as hell, inflation is almost impossible to combat without causing a recession, and the shyt they actually should do (completely reframe the economy to protect the least advantaged) isn't palatable to either party establishment or most of these swing voters.

What they really should have done is build up the safety net over the long term to protect housing costs, food prices, medical prices, reduce debt, increase education, etc. But that's all long-term shyt and everybody wants a quick fix.

Good blow this shyt up
That would be fine if it meant things would het better afterwards. But they won't. The country is going to turn in a far right theocracy where we'll far more miserable than we are. Even white people will suffer immensely.

Do you honestly believe that these reports are released as a tactic for the GOP to disengage Dem voters?
This data is taken frequently from my understanding. But the headline is provocative on purpose.

"1.7 million voters switch party registration doesn't really sum up the same level of FUD."

Or the economy is trash and inflation is through the roof so people want to go back to the Trump years where things were "better"

People aren't switching parties over CRT. People will always blame the economy on the guy in the White House and Biden isn't doing himself any favors on that front.
This shyt kills me. It’s like people don’t have memories.

We keep doing this same cycle. Republicans get into office they pass out money to rich people which makes the economy look good, the bubble eventually bursts leaving democrats to try to clean it up and then people blame the democrats for the shytty economy, vote them out and restart the cycle over and over again :mindblown:

From the article:

Ben Smith, who lives in suburban Larimer County, Colorado, north of Denver, said he reluctantly registered as a Republican earlier in the year after becoming increasingly concerned about the Democrats’ support in some localities for mandatory COVID-19 vaccines, the party’s inability to quell violent crime and its frequent focus on racial justice. :mjpls:

also From the article:

But over the last year, roughly two-thirds of the 1.7 million voters who changed their party affiliation shifted to the Republican Party. In all, more than 1 million people became Republicans compared to about 630,000 who became Democrats.

The broad migration of more than 1 million voters, a small portion of the overall U.S. electorate, does not ensure widespread Republican success in the November midterm elections, which will determine control of Congress and dozens of governorships. Democrats are hoping the Supreme Court’s decision on Friday to overrule Roe v. Wade will energize supporters, particularly in the suburbs, ahead of the midterms.

So, nearly a million people changed their political affiliation to democrat which sort of nullifies the million people that changed their political affiliation to republicans.

What the democrats need to do is focus their efforts on getting their base out.

Can’t do that when you can’t retain control for more than 4 years.

The good ole’ days the Republicans wish for were when the Dems controlled Congress to make sure Republicans wouldn’t undermine their legislation.
