The only reason there is so much fukkery associated with this samich is because it was hyped up by black folks on social media and Popeyes played this game that they mysteriously "ran out" of samiches.
McDonalds never run out of Big Macs or cheeseburgers, Chic Fil A never run outta sandwiches.
Popeyes is doing what Jordan and Nike has done for decades. Made something that is ordinary and cheaply made into a limited edition quickstrike status symbol that people act ignorant and even kill over. Those of us who are old enough remember when Jordans never sold out either. The Jordans that came out that year were the new Jordan's. They were always on the shelf in every Footlocker. shyt, even sporting goods stores like dikks had heat back in the day. The $100-150 price tag was a lot heavier in the 80's and 90's which caused the hype, robberies, violence and fukkery revolving around J's back then, but the limited release retro's didn't start selling out instantly until the early 2000's. The truth is hella Jordans are ugly as fukk and if they didn't have the Jordan logo and Jordan and hella other celebrities never wore them, no one would rock them.
Just like there is nothing really special about Popeyes chicken samich. Literally no one was eating them shyts before the social media hype.
And the fukked up thing is that Popeyes didn't even create the hype, it was black people on social media. Popeyes just made the right chess move. Now they getting hella publicity and getting hypebeast business.
