Blks only get recognition when they play roles that sooth and appease white narratives.

Precious-std, fat, welfare queen
Moonlight-gay, emasculated blk male
Halle Berry whoring it up for that white dude in that movie.
Denzel in Training Day

Gotta be some caricature of blkness to get recognition in white Hollyweird.

I just see it as liberal cac america using the black community to push their own wierdo sex habits further into the mainstream. There will come a time in our lifetimes when they start pushing pedo shyt.

This. Liberals cacs push this shyt into the Black Community because

A. They know most cacs would not allow that shyt in the white community

B. According to this Nielson article from a few months ago: For Us By Us? The Mainstream Appeal of Black Content, Most non-blacks acknowledge that African-Americans influence Mainstream Culture. So they think if they push it on black folks, blacks will make being LGBT hip & trendy and can spread it more mainstream.

The Land That Time Forgot
Clearly we know gay black people exist.
The problem comes from the likelihood of a movie/tv character who's black n male being gay.
Gay/lbt etc are irl extremely fringe groups, ie not occurring often.
In Hollywood tho, most black male characters are either gay or weirdly asexual.
Most black women characters are up for grabs for white guys. N if the breh isn't gay or asexual, he's with an other.
Healthy black sexuality is disturbing for white america, so they introduce dysfunction to check off boxes so they can seem progressive.
Look at the new sitcom about the young breh N the old guy running a donut shop. Breh has no sexuality at all. He just hangs out with his simple friend n works at a donut shop.
Make that dude white n by the end of the first episode u know who he's gonna end up with because white dudes on tv are allowed to be fully faceted human beings.

There's a push, plain as day.

I'm thinking of the various MTV Awards kiss-fests...

Michael Jackson kisses his wife, Priscilla Presley.

Madonna kisses Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera.

Now, the two Moonlight male actors kiss on the awards show.

Question: Have we ever seen a passionate kiss on the MTV Awards involving a black
heterosexual couple, say like Beyonce and Jay Z? I guess that would be too disturbing to the audience.

I see your point. However I don't think any of the moonlight characters were emasculated black men.
The characters were multidimensional.

Also, the film was based off a black play "In Moonlight boys look Blue". The writer and the directors were black and there was not one white person in the movie.

It's the MTV awards.......just digest that for a little bit. This award show has always been about shock value. Moonlight was marketed as a Black LGBTLMNOP film even before it hit theaters. Why are we surprised about this. The first time I heard anything about the movie was from a thread on here again before it hit theaters

I wasn't even watching this but my wife had fallen asleep with MTV on last night. I was doing some browsing on my tablet in the meantime, and when I saw the category come up with the candidates, I was immediately like "wait a minute... Was that two niiggas kissing?!?" Then I automatically knew they was gonna win.

I've learned to be distrustful of blk representation in entertainment even if it is produced by...blks. Sell outs are all too common these days. I will still check it out...maybe. I couldn't get thru the other movies I mentioned.
And it still triggers me that we can't get a coming of age story about a blk person male or female w/o either character being gay, tragic, involved in some type of crime, dysfunctional relationship, or head over heels in love with a non-blk or as close to a non-blk being passed as a blk person. (Damn near cried watching Luke Cage and when I saw the cast for Blk Panther).:wow:(Not that those stories SHOULDNT be represented b/c in this day and age of RA RA, people confuse wanting normal stories with castigating alternative lifestyles).:beli:

@The Grendel I heard about this a few days ago over here on the Coli. You know what though. This man I came across on youtube speaks about the agenda of the LGBT organization and their influence in church (choir director and pastor/church leadership), movies, and in the school systems with student's education being rewritten to include homosexual education and desensitization.

I heard some Christian groups talking about how organizations like NAMBLA and various polygamy sects and etc had begun to use the same arguments that LGBT use such as born this way.
For example, this man feels he was meant to be a 6 year old girl which caused him to leave his wife and kids to live as a 6 year old girl in an older couple's home.
