We lost a great man. It's a god damn shame he got caught up in some dumb shyt, he was probably 1 to 2 years away from doing something big. Music was just the vehicle. His backstory, his struggles, everything would have made him one of the greatest people to talk to the youth as well as young adults.

A few months ago I read a story about Obama saying he truly realized his power when he was telling his story to some low income DC highschoolers. He talked about his drug use, being caught up in dumb shyt, wasting time, etc. When he finished the story one of the kids said "wait, are you talking about yourself?!" The kid couldn't believe straight laced Harvard Obama, the president of the United States, had a similar history to his. That shyt sparks a mind brehs. And Pac had a similar story.

I really think he was gonna move to doing movies, before moving into community stuff. I don't give a shyt what you think about his raps, if you can't acknowledge Pac as a real nikka, I can't fukk with you.

this is the shyt that infuriates me about Pac...

He was a brilliant mind that was destined to become the voice of his generation and be SO much bigger than a rapper or actor, except dude had an identity crisis and didn't know whether he wanted to be Malcolm or keep portraying Birdie off camera. His thought process and mentality were so advanced for his age and I think he would have eventually figured out what he was put on this Earth for, but dude got caught up living in a life he wasn't built for and paid the ultimate price. You can't help but notice the contradictions when he's adamant about bringing people together and making this world better for all, yet the next minute perpetuating violence and misogyny in his music, knowing just how impressionable the youth, who was his audience, is. It's sad man, he's one of the few people of our generation who I really feel like could have changed the world for the better had he lived long enough to realize his purpose.

Breh, I almost agree with you but I don't think Pac had an identity crisis like the one you're suggesting. His upbringing wasn't exactly ideal and he came from a clan that was involved either in real militant shyt or street shyt. Pac was a classic case of being a product of his environment, that ended up being to his detriment but it didn't help that feds had tabs on him since Elementary school. So as tragic as it was to see him die like he did, I think people never consider the amount of pressure that must've been on his shoulders.

As for the music, that's just art. In his mind he wasn't going to reach the people he really wanted to talk to if he suddenly stopped speaking like them just cuz he has an articulate and intelligent side. Besides, a lot of the time he's either talkin about things directly in his life, stories from others, or allegories making a greater overall point and those good qualities were peppered here and there. Part of the brilliance in his music was that he made himself accessible to as many people as possible by his subject matter. It wasn't about being some above it all leader, he showed his humanity and was a stand up real nikka instead of puttin on some smart guy act(Think Talib Kweli no diss to him) and showing one part of him. Only lesson to be learned is to not get deep into that lifestyle if you ain't from it and be careful when you attempt to fight the system.

Historic recording.

Clearly the highlights were the community-building discussions. It's amazing how much forethought Pac had on his plans for organizing and taking back the communities. Fast forward to today, and them same cats he wanted to take out to dinner and build with are instead EXTORTING the crap outta the same type of rappers HE wanted to be sitting at that dinner table, making those rappers pay for the ability to even STEP on their city streets.
:smh:

Also, it's wild to hear about things like "All Eyez On Me" in a "future tense", when it/they were still in the planning stages. Like how he talked about "I got this song with Dre called "California Love, it's gonna be crazy"....and how, almost 20 years later, that song is so highly regarded and revered in rap's history.
:wow:

Man...This is depressing...
What a loss...

...yeah, this is the other thing I got outta this. :to:

SO much promise...all that energy and dedication towards nation building, towards a REAL movement....just gone. NEVER to return, it seems. Cause ain't nobody even close to embodying everything this dude stood for, at his core, and rap has since spiraled down a vortex of blatant greed and exploitation, and I'm talmbout from the cats who DO rap, not just "The Man". He may have been an actor to a certain degree about various things, but at his core he was from a family with a REVOLUTIONARY spirit.

All in all, and absolutely AMAZING find.

And people also tend to forget is dude was young as fukk. he was 25 when he died, just turned 25 too. every thing was done from age 20-25. imagine dude at 30. he had a lot of maturing to do, a lot

:ohhh:

wow...he mentions the A-TEAM (king tuts) crew at the 3:15 mark.............

this is history right here ...also mentions he in the midst of releasing ALL EYES ON ME.....

It really is, that gem was big. Its like the puzzle is complete. Real shyt a Pac movie is more possible now after these revelations, only problem is finding an actor on that type of level. All that's left is for Snowden to leak some fed papers on Pac and the Shakurs to make the cypher complete. :ehh:

i think he was asking for more organization to minimize the violence, understanding that a good amount of folks will do drugs regardless. He was treating to a lobster dinner as well:russ: Who wouldnt want to share lobster with the likes of Pac, Cube, and Redman :ehh:

That part with Al Sharpton talking to the police:mjlol:(Pac may have been talking to the wrong guy with his ideas lol) about getting police to lay off a bit to give dealers their space and time and in turn they would tune down the violence and have children safe from its effects

Damn he wanted to create hampsterdam. :leon:

:to: Why we lost this brother?....After listen to this phone conversation. Seriously, these rappers need to stop comparing them to him like "I'm the next Pac" or "I'm the white Pac", etc. That shyt is insulting to me.

Pac was a good person stuck in a bad world he couldnt escape from, and that ultimately did him in.....to: What a great loss

It is crazy for almost 18 years and we still find the new stuff from Pac.....there are probably more stuff coming from him that will release later in years.
