i'm sure the fact she is semi-black balled is true, but before you cry foul... think about this... who the fukk wants to look at Monique in a movie? She got the role of a lifetime and was rewarded for it. What the hell could you possibly cast Monique as in other movies? Octavia Spencer gets steady work as a character actor, which is where she should be despite winning an Oscar. Be real for a sec, Monique is gross, and there aren't many roles for her to play. She was never gonna go from the Oscar to headlining major motion pictures.

not just movies, she's was blackballed from TV shows also. Everyone involved pretty much admitted that she was supposed to be Cookie or someone major on Empire but it was shutdown by the higher-ups because of her attitude towards the industry. There were probably a few roles on TV she could have had based on networks capitalizing on the success of Shondaland and Empire...
you are all wrong. if you do not have a strong team representing you, then yes winning an oscar doesn't mean anything. sam jackson had to change agents 4 times in one year because they was bullshyttin. you have to have a good rep holding you down in this biz or your career will be stagnant. a strong agent or management would have tore lee daniels a new one for playing games with his clients like that

This is just the main stream Black Xmas movie they have been releasing every year for the past 5 years around November. I see its got the typical dinner and church scenes
I'm sure someone is dating or married to a white person that Danny Glover hates at the beginning but learns to accept them due to the Xmas spirit

What do you need to see to be convinced.... A Clifton Powell came? This is a mature mainstream hood flick, but it's a hood flick never the less. 70 to 80 percent of the audience will be people of color.
It's either a cook out, family reunion, funeral, wedding or holiday get together.
