I don't disagree but she doesn't have that type of leverage, and 500k is nothing to sneeze at for a 45 minute special. If that one is a success she could ask for more the next time around she has to work her way back up.

Monique was better off just agreeing to the special, promote it in the media circuit simultaneously with Netflix, Let it do better numbers than projected, then negotiate for a higher price for the next special. Or since she does other projects outside of comedy, she could of used the success of this special as leeway to discuss her other projects with Netflix. Monique is hustling backwards.
