Hear me out. Burnes 2 years 80 million. Stearns hates long term deals to pitchers in their 30s, and it fills a big hole in the rotation. I'd also do a high AAV short term deal with Pete.
Sign Burnes, bring Pete back, trade for cease and sign Tanner Scott. That should be a nice off season.

Probably option 1. Only cause getting Alonso on less than 23m per is an extremely movable contract if we can reel in Gladdy. Hell, we may even be able to work a sign and trade with Toronto if it got to that point. They could get an 'affordable' star at first and the Mets could get Vladdy.
And Manea for less than 25m per, with what pitchers are getting now?

Heard Pablo Lopez might on the block because he might be too expensive for Minnesota. Also heard the same about Jared Jones. Pittsburgh has a glut of starters and would be trading from a strength. There's also Luis Castillo.
