It’s almost impossible to be a two sports star at a D1 school nowadays. Unless it’s track. The training and travel is pretty much year round.

Most kids have to make a choice now.

Ya'll realize teams have invited celebrities and regularly invite fringe players to Spring Training? The Padres/Mets/Royals had Garth Brooks playing Spring Training ball for them at one point. Mo'Ne Davis getting a Spring Training invite if she kept with baseball isn't as outlandish as you're making it

The celebrities who get invited to training camp actually were fringe players at one point though. Garth Brooks was a top player in high school and was being scouted by MLB teams at one point. So was Billy Crystal and all those other celebs who were let into training camp over the years.

Mo'ne was just a little league star. Being a little league star doesnt make you a fringe MLB player. in fact most little league stars NEVER come close to making the league and almost all of them end up switching sports entirely by the end of high school. It's one big early bloomers competition.
