So he probably is coming back.

After the initial excitement of an AEW guy moving to WWE, people will get tired of Cody. WWE will use some of his segments to throw shots at AEW and get some pops, but eventually that will wear off.

Once he gets back to the normal WWE style without the gimmicks he had in AEW, he'll be just another guy.
