What was the original shield suppose to be? Punk, Rollins & Reigns?

I thought it was Rollins, Ambrose, and Chris Hero with Punk using them as his mercenaries during his title reign. I think Vince nixxed Hero and added Reigns. I could be wrong tho.

Honestly, after thinking it over some... I'm not sure the whole New Day thing made any sense. How did Big E leave them struggling? Heels can be delusional and they can certainly blame others for their faults but the reasoning here is falling flat unless there's more to it that I'm not seeing.

I wasn't expecting the New Day swerve to be them with turning on E, which is a decent surprise, but my thing is how far can you even go with this if E can't work or take bumps?

He had neck issues and can't compete. I don't think it's the worst thing ever, but it seems a little thin... maybe they'll flesh it out more in the weeks to come.

It makes perfect sense, E waited to come back in their corner to the point they were about to tear the whole thing down. They're not playing dumb like he wasn't around the building and acknowledging his status as the PLE countdown commentator that he worried about his own thing but couldn't offer to manage them when everything was going south all year.

Add in that both are also tired of hearing about E as kayfabe wise they feel like the fans were more concerned with the New Day member who isn't around anymore than the two that are going night in and night out representing them, it's not that deep of a story and it makes logical sense in the world of pro wrestling.
