Ostensibly all of these guys are supposedly dreaming of one day becoming a champion so that is the unsaid reason for their existence.

The King of the Ring tournament though means nothing as a part of this TV show because none of the writers have given a defined reason for why anyone is so damn eager to win it.

This is a scripted TV show so shyt like that should made very clear to audiences.

KOTR hasn't meant much for a very long time. They had a 9 year gap or so between tournaments.
