Most people with functional and stable relationships have a minimal gap in their age. A man or woman with a partner who is the same age or younger than their own child is not looking for someone who will understand them.

And yes, you have failed as a father if your daughter needs a man to "take care of her" and that man is your age or older. Your role as a parent is to give your children the tools and wisdom so that they're not dependant on anyone and don't need someone to be a surrogate father or mother to them. Before you ask, I absolutely had the same smoke for Madonna decrepit ass going after the young black man and Jada Pinkett blowing up her whole family over an "entanglement" with someone who is a friend of her SON.

But it is hurtful for older women to see men gravitate toward younger women. But on the flip men have to deal with women openly preferring men who are tall, rich, famous, etc. The difference is there are many more young women than there are tall/rich men. A lot more. So men’s preference holds because they never lose supply. Women cannot make more 6 foot 6 cert men clearly.

It is a struggle. Most women today believe that they're equal to men and having a lack of age gap in a relationship encourages that nonsense which would usually lead to the two "equal partners" going back and forth unnecessarily.

As dealing with a older man who would usually have more knowledge and resources and so the greater ability to actually guide the woman would shut that thought of being "equal partners" and lower the possibility of struggle lovin'.
